SCOUTING OUT SOLUTIONS

Grandma Linda was the subject of a bit of mild-mannered heckling months back when she unveiled the handmade, handcrafted and very handsome "sock monkey" for the baby. See his hat? There's a crib-sized blanket of the same fabric.

Anyway, poor sock monkey looks a little "monkey challenged". His ears are two different sizes and he has an odd expression on his face at all times.

However, Grandma was vindicated earlier this week when it was discovered that Miles LIKES his sock monkey! In fact, today we named the monkey "Scout". It is only coincidental that Miles' daddy really, really likes International Scout vehicles. We named him Scout because we anticipate he will scout ahead for dangerous situations OR alert us when the coast is clear! Yes!

Solutions are coming daily to the Davis household. Today we were visited by Excavation Guy who continued work on our driveway. Well, he never actually talked to us today so we are uncertain if he's finished. The road grader is now parked at the end of our drive and near the road. But it's still IN our drive. Mmmm. . . .

Electrician Guys came back. We now have the dimmer switch in the dining room, cable outlet in Glenn's "special" (a.k.a., trophy) room, outlets in the attic, generator hook-up and more. What we don't have. . .and didn't know of course until AFTER the electricians left and AFTER the Satellite TV Guys showed up. . .is that the cables coming into the house for our t.v.'s, etc. are all just hanging in the basement. No box tying them all together. Sooo. . . no satellite t.v. again tonight.

I am happy to report, however, that this updated post is being sent from my very own desktop computer in my very own office in my very own (+the part the bank owns) home! :-)

Tomorrow, Doug the "Tile Guy" will be back to install soap trays in the bathroom showers. And, yesterday we finally got the shower door in our bathroom.

As an added bonus, Miles and I watched the Shower Door Guy drive up our gravel lane, spinning his rear-wheel-drive truck, doing about 85% of a donut and nearly smashing into the road grader (see above).

We actually live on a very quiet road (only two house past ours). Yet, it seems that we are constantly entertained by some kind of exciting event or another.
