Friday, July 18 most of the windows and doors were installed in the house, so that's another big visual step forward. One set of patio doors in the basement walk-out level have yet to be hung. In addition, none of the windows in the upper story bonus room are in. Apparently, a bit of a redesign with the trusses allowed for larger windows in the dormers; they've been ordered but are yet to arrive.
According to our general contract, the Tyvek wrap should be done this week and then work is to begin on the shingling and siding. We're excited for that to begin as will really start looking like a "real" house then!
Yesterday we enjoyed an interesting dinner. The kids invited us to drive with them to American Falls where the Power County Search and Rescue Team was having a benefit dinner. For $8.00 we feasted on a wonderful dinner. . . the main course of which was Alaskan salmon cooked right there over a wood fire. PCSRT has it flown in for this event which was in its 20th year. Lines of people when we arrived, throughout our stay and as we left. Can't imagine how many folks they served, but it was declicious and quite interesting to see the sides of fish being grilled!
So far, we've done two "local" events . . . one sponsored by the Pebble Creek Ski Patrol and this one. Seems like a pattern is developing; hope we don't need the services of either of these groups!
