The past week saw slow progress on Che Davis construction. Plumbers got backed up (no pun intended) at another site so were delayed until this morning. Roofers, however, did manage to get the tarpaper up and in place on the roof.
We met with the builder this morning; things are getting moving once again. Plumbers arrived while we were there to begin the rough plumbing; next will be the HVAC folks and the electrician. Once these folks are finished with their preliminaries, the framing inspection will occur and then work will proceed with the shingles, Tyvek wrap and siding.
Speaking of the wrapping, a keen eye from back home sent along an article about using Tyvek wrap on houses and how it should be installed (i.e., before the windows are put in). We knew that, too, but in talking with our builder and making a long story short. . . . Bannock County, Idaho has a building code which requires Tyvek wrap to be installed AFTER the windows are in place. Technical reasons for this. . . that are not interesting to me today so I won't bore with the details.
Glenn and I have many decisions to make in the next few weeks, but we have a bit of a lull right now. In approximately 2-3 weeks we'll need to make our final selections on tile, paint, fixtures and so forth. At this point, we're caught up in that department.
We believe we've found the tile and listello we want for the floors . . . carpeting, maybe. We haven't even begun to look at lighting fixtures, yet. So many decisions!! Lots of fun but nerve-wracking at the same time.
In the meantime, we think we're going to scoot out for a few days of camping. Josh will return from a weekend visit to his folks' in Ohio later today so we'll feel o.k. about leaving Meggie alone for a bit. Not exactly sure where we'll go, but Glenn is interested in exploring the Bear Lake area (this lake sits in the southeastern corner of Idaho and is actually partially in Utah).
In the meantime, all is well, but hot! The other day we registered 99 degrees!! Yes, it is a DRY heat, but it's hot nonetheless!
