SPRING SPRUNG, WINTER WHACKED BACK

A brief respite from other pressing matters, I'll add a few words to the journal before returning to tasks at hand.
Indeed, spring did spring last week. On one of my daily walks up the hill, I wore a t-shirt and capri pants and wished I'd remembered a bottle of water. Yesterday, winter returned and brought with her six inches of snow. Back to wool sweaters and turtlenecks.
We skied Friday a.m., but conditions on the mountain deteoriated rapidly that day. In the shade at higher elevations -- ice. In the sun -- mush, but that was only where snow still clung, otherwise it was grass. So, we left the skis at the repair shop for the end-of-the-season tune up and waxing, came home and laundered all the related clothing and accessories and called it a year. Now, snow returns . . .unlikely we'll haul everything out again, though. We're pretty sure this is a brief backlash from Mother Nature which will not stick around too long.
With snow on the ground again, the prospects of Miles getting a stroller ride have diminished. We took him out twice last week in the warm weather for strolls -- he really enjoys being outdoors. And, now that he has his first pair of shoes we're eager to get him out to practice his walking skills as well.
Miles returned to us this morning, sans daddy. Joshua left yesterday for Edmonton, Canada where he will be at a meeting for Agrium, coming home Friday. Glenn will pick him up from the Salt Lake Express stop in McCammon around noon.
My agenda today includes continuing to plod along in preparation for the Altrusa conference for which I am responsible -- as well as prepare the oft-promised to Glenn crockpot of Beef Barley Soup. Probably bake a loaf of bread as well. And of course, providing lots of kisses and hugs to both of my boys!
