NEWS FLASH: TRANSIENT POPULATION OF PLAINFIELD, IL INCREASES BY 2! (FILM AT 11!)

We have arrived safe and sound in Plainfield, IL at the home of the Hilleslands (and Buddy, the wonder dog). The drive was probably the most pleasant one we have made along I80, at least from the respect of weather and driving conditions.
Clear, blue skies and dry roads the entire route!
We saw literally hundreds of antelope and mule deer along the way and a few wild turkeys, too. Unfortunately, this time we did not spot any elk or moose. . .
Gasoline prices are down from our trip here in the spring and summer. For some odd, left-brained, obsessive compulsive reason, I always record the number of gallons of gas we purchase, the price per gallon and so forth on our travels.
Today, we actually saw gas for $2.839 per gallon . . .of course, not right at a time when we needed some! But, we did pay less than $3.00 per gallon twice so far. Now that we're back in the Windy City area, we're seeing gas prices posted at $3.35 - 3.45 again.
The only down side to the drive was how much we miss our "Miley-Guy"! My small portfolio of his pictures entertained us four times in two days (as well as some mind-numbing crossword puzzles). Grandpa Glenn also worked on lyrics for more verses of his new "Miles' Song."
Altogether a long, but great drive. We'll be here for a few days, visiting with the Hills and my mom before heading off to Michigan.
