Congrats to the Grad!

It's been nine years since I wrote my sister Brenda and brother-in-law Eric a special note on the occasion of nephew Seth's birthday.  The gist of my comments were "You're half done and doing a fine job but savor the next nine years, they will go by quickly."  My words -- although it seems as though written just yesterday -- have come to pass.
On Saturday, May 29 Seth graduated from Oswego East High School.  Last reports from the Hillesland household is that he's now decided to head off to Mt. Pleasant, MI where a mighty-fine financial offer plus scholarship have made the prospect of becoming a CMU Chippewa quite attractive.  Mixed emotions on my part; so proud of Seth for getting such an offer and going off to college; somewhat bummed that now we're in Idaho and he'll be in school only an hour and fifteen minutes from our old home!  Life paths are often twisty and curious.
In the photo above, Brenda, Seth, Eric and Layne -- herself barreling forward into her sophomore year.
