Brunch was relaxing; Miles cooperated by gnawing on his first zwieback cracker. Seeing him dissolve it all over his mouth and high chair brought memories of his mom doing the same thing flooding back!
The Easter bunny did, indeed, consider Miles a good boy . . . so left behind a basket of toys and five eggs for which to hunt. Miles did enjoy that . . . especially since the coins his dad placed inside of them rattled nicely when shaken!
Last evening (Tuesday) Water Bugs class rolled around again, but Meg and Josh worked later than usual and couldn't make it to class. Meghan, in her role as Process Safety Specialist for the Monsanto, Soda Springs facility, is working on a safety video. She is the onscreen representative and 'model' as well as doing the narration and voiceover. So, she's spending a little bit of extra time at the plant this week.
At any rate, Grandpa filled in as Miles' Water Bug partner. I enjoyed watching the two of them in the pool more than they enjoyed being together . . . and that's really saying something!
(As an aside, for the life of me I haven't figured out how to imbed photos in a post yet, nor can I move them . . .so the pictures at the top here are a bit out of order and frustrating me to no end. . .
. . .but that brings me to the last topic today . . . being busy!)
I am frantically trying to finish up tasks for my Altrusa conference; I have two speeches yet to write and a workshop to finalize . . .while answering what seems to be a zillion emails daily from members back in District Five. I have yet to pack my suitcase, or even figure out what I'm taking. Meanwhile, Miles has become MOBILE in the sense that he crawls (fast), and can walk while pushing a walk-a-long type toy. And now, horrors!, we have learned he can climb stairs! Yipes! Miles is a child with a real joy-de-vivre . . . every day he is just so darned happy to be alive and able to explore everything in our house!
The four of us, Meg, Miles, Glenn and I, will be leaving tomorrow night for the trip to the midwest. We're staying in a hotel near the SLC airport . . .flying out Friday morning. So. . . off I must go to continue my frenzied pace in preparation. We are busy, yet delighted, to be part of Miles first big adventure!
Glenn summed it up last night. We'd spent our day with the Miley-Guy, then off for errands before Water Bugs Class -- post office, bank, purchased an umbrella stroller for the trip, a quick drive-thru at Mickey D's, then class -- on again home. Glenn's comment, "I'm tired, but I'm so glad I got to do Water Bugs with Miles. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
