On the Move!

    Several recent photos of the grandbabies follow.  It's cliche, I know, but they're growing oh, too quickly!  Miles is now riding a two-wheeler (with training wheels), can pretty much print his first name and knows waay too much for someone not yet four!  He loves books at this stage and I can see he wants to read on his own but we're not quite there yet.

     Maesi needs to get some words, although she understands most of what she hears.  For example, when we line up five plastic zoo animals she can pick out each when we ask "Get the gorilla, Mae!" and can perform simple tasks such as "Take this to Grandpa."  However, she's not really talking yet so her preferred method of communicting after mere pointing is screaming.  Maesi still takes a bottle, but all whole milk now and no formula but she's pretty much a solid-food girl and loves to eat . . . copious amounts and frequently.  And, like her grandpa and brother before her, she just loves Oreos!

(06/03/2012)  Daddy Josh assists Miles on his new two wheeler!  The babies spent the night before with us while Josh and Meg spent the night in Idaho Falls after attending the annual Beer Fest.  They brought Miles this big surprise . . . . and he took off in no time flat!

(06/02/2012)  A planned activity while their folks were in Idaho Falls, Glenn and I took the kids swimming in nearby Lava Hot Springs.  We almost canceled due to rain and thunderstorms, but Miles was so excited for swimming he just cried and cried when we tried to bail on him.  So, we gave in and bought the tickets . . . and it was great!  Although a Saturday, not many people stayed after the storms moved through and the sun came out.  Here, Miles takes a little snack break with Grandpa.

(06/07/2012)  Our little Maesi started walking at 8 1/2 months, but now she's all-out running.  And, of course, exploring.  She's discovered what fun it is to spin the Lazy Susans round and round!

(06/06/2012)  My competition.  Glenn calls Maesi his 'girlfriend' and she quite obviously doesn't object.  She cries when he leaves her line of sight and toddles all around the house after him.  Definitely a grandpa's girl!

(06/02/2012)  Miles mugs it up for the camera which is interesting in that he's spent about the last six months insisting "No pictures!" and turning his face or hiding every time I tried to snap a picture.  Quite the character he is!
