Two Kinds of Warm: Weather and Family Times

(24 April 2012)  M & M World.  Priot to our trip to LasVegas, I learned of M&M World located on the strip there.  Since Glenn and Miles share this candy confection on a near daily basis, it was a no-brainer that we'd visit.  One of the first stops inside this mega-gift shop devoted entirely to the candy was a wall of dispensers filled with the little chocolates in a plethora of colors.  First, Grandpa helped Miles get a few purple one, Miles' favorite color.  Then a short-circuit in the routine, Grandpa couldn't get to Miles fast enough -- the color teal caught the little guy's eye and he opened the chute.  AARGH!!  We ended up with 1.3 pounds of candies, primarily teal.  Total cost with sales tax:  $17.02!!  The most expensive candy I've probably ever eaten!

(24 April 2012)  Water Baby!  Like her mom and grandpa before her, Maesi just took to the water.  And, like her namesake Great-Grandma Mae, she loves watching people.  Consequently, bobbing around in the family pool surrounded by other kids and adults, our little girl was in her glory -- just bobbin' and watchin'; watchin' and bobbin'!

(25 April 2012)  Too Loud?    Miles sits on his daddy's shoulders for a better view of the talking statues at Caesar's Palace.  The loud sounds, unexpected eruptions of water and color made his a little uneasy, but he watched transfixed nonetheless.  After the show, he and Grandpa shared a gelatto while watching the fish in the salt water aquarium in the Atlantis area of Caesar's.

(26 April 2012)  Toothy Tug O' War.  Maesi and Grandpa have a friendly game of tug o' war in the condo in Vegas.  Maesi won the prize; with four front teeth and lots of determination, she wasn't about to let go of that pacifier!

(13 May 2012)  Happy Birthday!  Although our little Maesi turned one on May 3, Meg and Josh celebrated the big occasion on Mothers Day while Grandma Marsha Waite was visiting.  Meghan baked a homemade angel food cake with three different colored layers and added a scrumptious buttercream-type frosting.  Let's just say, Mae didn't need any encouragement to eat her first birthday cake!

(13 May 2012)  Jungle-Gym Grandpa.  In addition to Mothers Day, we celebrated Mae's birthday and Grandpa Glenn's, too.  Miles demonstrates that even though Grandpa is now 63, he's still tough enough to be a climbing toy for his not-quite-four grandson!

(13 May 2012)  Our Sweet Girl.  Maesi watches birds fly in and out of the blue spruce tree in her backyard on Mothers Day.  She also celebrated her first birthday on this day with mom, dad, Miles, her Grandma Marsha and us.
