M & Ms . . . Melt Your Heart!

The M & Ms . . . Miles and Maesi. . . melt our hearts every time they visit our house.  A few updates about each.
Miles is 3 1/2 going on about 12.  We've been going to the Pocatello Marshall Public Library since he turned one. . . first, "Book Babies" then "Terrific Twos" and now he's advanced to "Story Time" for kids 3-5.  Since he's been such a regular, he's known by name by the library staff . . . Miss Kathryn and Miss Marcia in the children's area and Mr. Greg at the Circulations Desk.  I never know what tidbits of information he's going to spontaneously share with them.  Two weeks ago he told Mr. Greg about Grandpa's chainsaw accident and high blood pressure; last week it was a "major oil leak in the big rig that Daddy needs to fix."   He's become such a character!

(01/12/2012)  Mae Elizabeth will be nine months on February 3.  Today, I had one of those USPS commercial moments . . . you know, the ad where the family needs desperately to send back the gift of a clown doll. . . that seems to move around without assistance?  I was in our bedroom, Mae was in the middle of the floor.  I turned my back for just a wee second and had this sensation someone was watching me.  Turning around, there she stood, right next to me, holding onto nothing!  Yes, now we have two mobile children!
Mae is growing by leaps and bounds  . . . assisted by a tremendous appetite!  Every day we are amazed at the quantity of food she eats . . . just placidly as if it's no big deal . . .unless you're slowed down in the process.  The other day, Glenn got distracted while holding a spoon of her lunch near her.  She quietly reached up, took his hand, and guided the spoon to her mouth!
As I noted earlier, she's also walking now. . . .and realizing the toys she used to just covet are now within her reach.  Miles is also learning that she is beginning to control her own destiny. . . proving it by biting him once when he reached his arm near her mouth to take away her toy!
Son-in-law Josh summed it up perfectly one day when he was home with both of the babes and I called to ask how things were going "It's a circus down here, Grandma!"
(12/31/2011)  Miles peers through his Viewmaster, a gift from Great-Aunt Brenda and Great-Uncle Eric on New Year's Eve.  In order to 'space out' the gifts and avoid wrapping paper meltdown, Miles and Mae didn't receive their gifts from us until that evening.

(12/25/2011)  It's just so comforting in Grandpa's arms!  Apparently, that is true in this picture of her napping on Christmas Day.  She frequently snoozes in the trusty arms of Grandpa when at our house; usually, he's snoozing right along with her!

(12/25/2011)  Grandpa Curt and Grandma Marsha Waite in Ohio sent Miles a children's computer, among many other things, for Christmas.  Here, he and daddy Joshua work on figuring out a game on Christmas Day.
