In the previous post I noted winter hobbling toward spring. This morning, it appears to have slipped and fallen as the kids' headlights revealed 3-4" of new snow in the drive. I mentioned to Glenn that I'm tired of having a cold (going on week 4 for this one) as well as being cold. Let spring be sprung!
Yesterday, the four of us had an "outing" in my mother's vocabulary. Meg and Miles picked us up around 8:00am; our first stop was Perkins Restaurant for breakfast. A nice treat to be out and about and having a nice server bring fresh coffee to my mug on request. Miles behaved nicely and again ate all of Glenn's bacon (which is why I believed he ordered it).
Then, off to American Falls, perhaps a 40-minute drive from Inkom. The public library there in conjunction with the Idaho Safari Club hosted a free exhibit of over 40 mounted animals. Lots of school kids making the trek to see them while we visited, but the grand part is all are encouraged to touch the animals. Miles did show some interest as shown in the pictures below.
As befits the whims of toddlers, however, Miles showed the greatest fascination with a kids' corner mini-kitchen. Each opportunity, he ran back to this toy. At one point, Meghan asked him, "Miles, don't you want to see the animals?" to which he responded frankly, "I can see them from here."
On the way back through Pocatello we made a quick stop to pick up a new Pac-N-Play Meg ordered for Baby Girl Jurgen (referred to as "Poopy" by her big brother); since we keep the 'old' one at our house she decided to buy another. A quick run into Lowe's for some hot water heater parts, the post office and bank and we were home around 1:00pm.
Glenn and I did venture out for a short walk; in seemingly a daily occurrence the wind picked up as the rain and snow moved in. Ideally, this afternoon will be mild enough that we can get our little guy outdoors.

Enjoyed a look into your anniversary weekend jaunt. Looks like you achieved your goal of relaxation and reflection. My best to both of you and the kids and GRAND.
